Our Team
Dr. Ryan Yuan
Dr. Ryan Yuan first discovered his passion for optometry in college when he had the opportunity to shadow Dr. Gee at this very office in Carson. Seeing Dr. Gee serve his patients thoughtfully and skillfully inspired Dr. Yuan to pursue the same career where he would be able to serve his patients as well. He graduated from UC Riverside with a major in Biology and minor in Philosophy, and then went on to graduate from Southern California College of Optometry with a doctorate in Optometry.
He has an array of clinical skills, which includes experience from performing eye exams for the military at Camp Pendleton Naval Hospital in Oceanside, Indian Health Services at Hu Hu Kam Memorial Hospital in Arizona, and at Castle Family community clinic in Merced, CA.
Dr. Yuan aims to bring quality and compassionate care to each and every patient he interacts with. In his spare time, Dr. Yuan enjoys spending time with his wife, weightlifting, making music, and rooting for the Lakers and Dodgers!
Dr. Vione Wong Yuan
Dr. Vione Wong Yuan (who goes by Dr. Wong) graduated from UC Irvine with a major in Biological Sciences and went on to earn her doctorate from the Southern California College of Optometry. Her clinical training includes experiences at Camp Pendleton Naval Hospital, Indian Health Services at Hu Hu Kam Memorial Hospital, University Eye Care Clinic in Los Angeles, and Castle Family Community Health Clinic.
Dr. Wong has obtained a wealth of experiences in a variety of optometric subspecialties, including ocular disease, contact lenses, pediatric, and low vision care. Dr. Wong has a passion for working with kids! She strives to serve her patients to the best of her abilities with compassion and care. When she is not at Avalon Optometry, Dr. Wong is providing eye care for the homeless population in Downtown Los Angeles.
She enjoys cooking new recipes, hiking local trails, discovering new TV shows, volunteering at church, and spending quality time with her husband, Dr. Yuan!
Dr. Erin Osako
Dr. Erin Osako decided to follow in her father’s footsteps and pursue a career in optometry. After receiving her bachelor’s degree from U.C. San Diego, she earned her Doctorate of Optometry from the Southern California College of Optometry in Fullerton. Dr. Osako began working at Dr. Gerry Gee Optometry shortly after graduating and has obtained a wealth of experience in a variety of optometric subspecialties, including ocular disease, contact lens, pediatric and low vision care. Dr. Osako considers herself blessed to not only help patients see as well as possible, but also help them understand the nature of their ocular and visual concerns.
When not at the office, Dr. Osako stays busy volunteering at her two sons’ school and extracurricular activities, serving at church and cheering on the Dodgers with her family!
Dr. Grace Jung
Dr. Grace Jung first started working with Dr. Gee as an optometric assistant in 2007 and has since earned her bachelor's degree from UCLA and Doctorate of Optometry. from Southern California College of Optometry. She has had clinical training in ocular disease, contact lenses, pediatrics and vision therapy. Dr. Jung especially enjoys working with children!
Outside of the office, Dr. Jung and her husband keep busy with their three young daughters and church involvement.
Dr. Christine Hur
Dr. Hur is a SoCal native, as she grew up in Orange County and went to undergrad in the Inland Empire where she got her bachelor’s degree in Biology at UC Riverside. She then went on to complete her doctorate at Southern California College of Optometry at Marshall B. Ketchum University. During her clinical training, she served at Komatke Health Center in the Phoenix AZ area, the Veterans’ Affair clinic in Downtown LA, and Walter Reed National Military Medical Center near Washington DC. She has seen a variety of cases in ocular disease (with emphasis on diabetic retinopathy), cornea and contact lenses, vision therapy and even some TBI (traumatic brain injury).
Dr. Hur is a committed primary eye care provider, and seeing her patients healthy and happy makes her day.
When she is not seeing patients she is out rock climbing, going to concerts, and enjoying the outdoors (beach, camping, etc).
